SABHF GOES “GREEN”

Membership News: SABHF Becomes a Little Greener

By Karen R. Smith

We might not be a huge organization yet, but taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint means a better Earth for everyone and we will grow with these new eco-friendly practices in place:

1. Universal October Renewal Date for all SABHF Members

Until now, folks joined whenever they joined, so we've had to do mailings and reminders at all times throughout the year. Inefficient at best and wasteful of resources at worst. This year we're changing that by moving all members to a October renewal date. For some, that has meant a free month or two or more to get them to October as we've dropped no one in this initiative.

2. On Site Renewal at the Festival and a Return to Plain Paper

Now, all SABHF members will renew at the Festival, which eliminates the stationary, toner and postage and the considerable expense of all that as well as greening our profile. Members will receive their new, non-laminated membership card right on the spot. Another green stroke we can be proud of!

3. Help us Help You Enjoy the Blues!

With more members we can do more to keep the blues alive. Bring your friends and neighbors to the Festival and encourage them to join. They will be glad you did!
